Heavenly Palma De Mallorca

Hello Palma de Mallorca!

Oh my goodness! We made it. And let us just say: Palma is everything we hoped it would be… and more.

After a smooth 2.5 hour flight from London, we touched down in the warm embrace of Mallorca and made our way to our home for the next few days. The absolutely divine Hotel Can Cera. And honestly? It feels like we’ve stepped into a dream.

The entrance itself set the tone for the magic to come. A huge, weathered wooden door, tucked away down a quiet alleyway. It was unobtrusive, silent, and mysterious, revealing absolutely nothing from the outside. For a moment we wondered, Are we in the right place? There were no obvious signs, just this grand old door in a hidden corner of the old town.

And then… the door opened.

Inside, it was as if we’d stepped into another world. A quiet oasis of elegant stone archways, high ceilings, antique furnishings, and soothing calm. The 17th century palace has been transformed into the most serene boutique hotel, blending classic Mallorcan architecture with understated luxury.

It’s the little luxuries that instantly stood out: thick, plush towels, real conditioner (finally!), slippers, gowns, and even a thoughtful bed turn-down service complete with a selection of herbal teas. Every detail has been considered and it shows.

After settling in, we ventured down for dinner at 7 PM, feeling perfectly on time, only to learn we were about two hours early by local standards! But it worked out beautifully. The restaurant was calm, the food was divine, and we were able to savor every dish in peace before the crowds arrived.

As the evening cooled, we took a leisurely walk through Palma’s enchanting streets, winding our way toward the sea. The old town glowed in the warm light, its balconies, shuttered windows, and cobbled alleys making us feel like we’d stepped onto a film set. From there, we followed the promenade to the water’s edge, where we found ourselves gazing up at the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma (La Seu); bathed in golden light, reflected in the water like a dream.

Can it really be real?

Back now at Can Cera, tucked into luxurious sheets, we feel an overwhelming sense of peace and gratitude. Tomorrow we explore, or maybe just soak it all in. For now, we’re simply content.

Palma, you’ve already stolen our hearts.
