Across the Channel
Our day began bright and early in London, with a 6:30 AM departure that marked the official start of our European adventure. The city streets gradually gave way to the rolling green countryside as we made our way southeast toward Dover.
Arriving at the iconic White Cliffs just in time for our ferry crossing, we were treated to a smooth and peaceful sail across the English Channel. Breakfast onboard was simple but satisfying, eggs and sausage, fresh pastries, and the excitement of what lay ahead made everything taste even better. We lingered on deck for a while, soaking in the view. The weather was devine. Approaching Calais, the French coastline welcomed us with a promise of new adventures.
Once back on land, we cruised through the scenic northern French countryside, where sleepy villages and vast fields painted a serene picture. The transition from England to France was seamless, yet the landscape and atmosphere had noticeably shifted.
By late afternoon, we rolled into the City of Light: Paris. We had a delightful first dinner together with our tour group at Bouillon République. The buzzing brasserie delivered classic French fare in a lively atmosphere. With laughter around the table and the comforting aroma of French cuisine, it was the perfect way to toast the start of our Parisian chapter.
After dinner, we took a short dusk bus tour through the city. As the lights began to twinkle and Paris glowed under a soft evening sky, we caught our first magical glimpses of this timeless city.
We checked into our hotel afterward, ready to rest and recharge. Looking forward to more Paris adventures tomorrow!
